The idea: a family retreat, a sometimes rental opportunity, or an artists or writer refuge in the offseason, all in the context of a wooded lot with expansive views of Lake Erie.

The project was to develop a new home and environs on a ~16 acre parcel in the town of Westfield, Chautauqua County, NY. At the core of the project was the development of the site access, landscape clearing, and house in ways that maximize the land and dramatic views across Lake Erie.

Master planning included siting the house, a series of cabins, a commons building along with locations for vertical access to a creek or lakefront on the property. The master plan will also locate drive access, secondary paths for connectivity between the structures, clearings , lawns, meadows, or other site related program that may want to be accommodated.
